Chapter 17 - THE FINAL PREPARATION

We spent three days organizing. Elena helped us. She identified the most damning evidence. She connected dates and names. She explained transactions only she could recognize. By the time we finished, we had built a case stronger than even Dad had imagined.

We didn’t go to prosecutors. We didn’t go to the courts. Not yet.

We went to the media.

We selected three trusted investigative journalists—reporters with a history of exposing corruption, who had no known connections to Julian. We met them separately, in secure locations, and showed them the evidence.

They were stunned.

“This is massive,” one said. “If even half of this is true…”

“It’s all true,” I said. “Every word. Every date. Every recording. And we are willing to testify. We are willing to go on record. But we need protection. And we need you to publish it all at once. Every name. Every crime. Every connection. So Julian cannot silence it piece by piece.”

They agreed.

On a Tuesday morning, at exactly eight o’clock, every major news outlet in the country published the story simultaneously.

*MILLIONS STOLEN. DEATHS COVERED. THE MAN WHO FOOSED A NATION.*

The story was everywhere. Headlines. News broadcasts. Online. Everywhere. Julian’s face appeared beside his crimes. His own voice played on every channel. His own emails betrayed him.

Within hours, the world turned upside down.
