Chapter 15 - THE FOUNDATION

A month later, I stood in a small, quiet office in the city. A plaque on the door read: The Elias Vance Foundation — Restoring What Was Stolen.

I had returned the family business to Vanessa’s surviving relatives. I had restored her brother’s name. I had funded scholarships in his name. And I had set up a foundation to help families destroyed by corporate greed.

Vanessa’s cousin—an honest, hardworking man—ran it. He thanked me with tears in his eyes.

“My brother would have been proud,” he said. “And Elena… she finally got what she wanted. Justice. Just not the way she expected.”

“Revenge destroys the avenger,” I said. “Justice heals.”

I walked out into the afternoon sun. My father’s sins could never be fully erased. But they could be acknowledged. And they could be atoned for.

I drove home. As I pulled through the gates, I saw them. Olivia and Lily. James. Marta. All waiting on the porch.

Home.

I walked up the steps. Lily ran to me. Olivia stood tall and smiled. James nodded.

“Everything done?” James asked.

“Everything,” I said. “The past is settled. Now we live.”
